Driver Rescued From Flipped Car After Crash On Busy Westchester Road

A driver was pulled from their flipped vehicle after a crash on a busy main route in Westchester.

The incident happened on Friday, May 24 around 6:30 p.m. on Boston Post Road (Route 1) in the area of Playland Parkway in the city of Rye, officials said.

According to city officials, Rye firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and found that a vehicle had flipped on its side with a driver stuck inside. Crews then worked to stabilize the car before using extrication tools to free the victim inside.

The driver was then put into the care of EMS crews, officials said. The extent of their injuries was not detailed.
